Low end guns on ThinkGeek... not sure if this belongs here.
Thu Oct 09, 2008 12:15 pm by Annun Cirith
I haven't seen anything about them yet, but ThinkGeek offers several low end guns.

They're hosted under the Geek Toys -> Cube Warfare section.

Solid metal spring pistol; smaller pistol. I haven't had any experience with it yet but it's shipped out today so I'll review when I get a chance.

Submachine gun.. The box read CM-018 or something along those lines; it's an all-plastic Cyma sub. The body underneath the scope rail is the magazine, holds somewhere around 100 rounds.

Nice cheap blowback AEP. Runs on 4 AAA and has a 'stick' mag. It's just called the 'No. 2139' or something along those lines. Looks like a generic Chinese pistol. 15 rounds.

M4. I'm not certain of the make, I think it's Boyi. But it's a very low-end. My semi-auto works sporadically and the mag always misfeeds one round; whenever you run out and take the mag out, one round falls out. 30 rounds.

The M4 and SMG both have the stock hopup set FAR too high and I haven't been able to access the M4 internals to adjust it... M4 shoots about 30 yards and curves sharply up. I'm going to do some surgery on the SMG tonight and see if I can get to the hopup. The SMG goes much farther on a more gradual upward curve. Not certain if these are 'default' settings or just badly calibrated.

Overall not bad for the price but the bigger guns are not skirmish worthy. Hopefully the full metal pistol will prove its worth.
