Which G&G M4?

I'm most likely going to get this gun, but I have a few questions

Will an 8.4 work with this gun? I've heard you need to "jumpstart" it with a 9.6v. I'm also thinking of getting the regular M4. only problem is, the regular M4 only holds a small battery. The size difference between the full stock and collapsible is 1 inch, so I'm more concerned about weight. I run around a lot, so I need a gun that is pretty light (like under 8 pounds) and isn't bulky to sprint with. I'm just afraid the full stock will be more bulky. What should I do?

You heard that you needed to "jumpstart" the gun with a 9.6v, from fdsakiller. Who said he heard that. Honestly unless anyone has personal experience with this gun, or can show me some cold hard evidence that this is true, please, everyone ignore it.

Full stock should be no problem, I've been running with a full stock all my airsofting life.

No, I did not hear that from fdsakiller, I heard that from a member of a different forum. Apparently, the G&G plastic M4 comes with a defective 8.4v battery. If you use the defective battery, you can then only shoot your gun if you give it a "jump start" with a 9.6v. He wasn't sure if you need to do that anyway, since he used the defective battery.

Ah the crap batteries that come with the plastica series.

A good lesson to always use your own batteries, not factory batteries.

Nonetheless, just use the 9.6v all the time, and this should not be an issue.

I know that G&G gearboxes are VERY strong, but won't the 9.6 decrease the life of the gun?

No, not at all.

G&Gs are basically made to use 9.6v batteries, as there is no gear whine, or squeaking what so ever. To not use a 9.6v would be worse, considering your not giving a lot of current to the motor.

Also, get deans connectors, those tamiya connectors suck. Deans will give you a 1-2 RPS increase, and they are very easy to install.

Kinda like KWA aegs are made for li-po, and besides if the manufacurer recommends a battery that will give you a high rof then you might as well use it.

Alright, so what about the weight/size issue? Think I should go for the full stock?

I would go for the full stock so you can get the large type battery, but you might have a hard time trying to fit a 9.6v batter in there, but i could be wrong.

I like to run around a lot, so do you think it might be a bit bulky? (I'm 5-5 and about 120 pounds)

My friend has a full stock E1 M4 he loves to run around with it and it doesn't seem too bulky, but it is bulkier than my M733.

I'm just worried the stock might feel too wide. How much do you think it will weigh with a battery inside?

Not too much more than the retractable stock, the other thing to consider is getting a nunchuck type batter for a retractable stock, i just ordered one myself. That would solve a lot of problems.

I personally hate full stock M16/M4s, accually I the full stock M4 is fine, but the M16 really annoys me. the M4 feels to well big, with the full stock. But it is personal opinion, you get the same feeling while holding an M4

No, they just lower the resistance between the battery and motor. Tamiya connecters can only flow something like 15 Amps, but deans can flow much more, like 60 amps, which is more than pretty much any AEG motor will ever pull.

It's like breathing through a straw. If you pinch the straw, it'll be harder to suck in more air. This is a standard Tamiya connector. If you suck through the straw normally, it is much easier to get more air. This is the Deans connector.
I'm in the slow process of rewiring everything I own to Deans. After doing it on my M4SD, it bumped the ROF up a good 2-3 RPS. Now they all need them, lol.

Could you put up a post in the "how to" section, on how to replace the tamiya connectors with deans? That would be very helpful, and seeing as it does work im interested in doing it myself...wheneveri get my next AEG.

I think I'm going to get the retractable stock because it looks better imo and it is more compact.

well in the end airsoft is mostly looks anyways, but that is a good looking gun.

This topic is old, but I'm still not sure on which M4 I should get.

Which one do you think looks better, we arent you and we cant decide what you like
