PostSubject: TSD tactical MP7   Tue Sep 18, 2007 2:07 am

I recommended the TSD tactical MP7 to my friend who is looking to buy his first AEG. He wants his gun to be no more than $80 and for that this was the best I could find. Is it a good choice? If not, what do you recommend?

Thanks

When asking this type of question it is best to provide a link.

I think he is referring to this one: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=2575

I just bought this one last week from that site and I'll let you know what I think of it. The TSD mp7 is really made by WELL as TSD is a rebrander and not an actual manufacturer (as you can see in the description) There are a lot of Well mp7 reviews out there so look them up instead of TSD as there are next to none anyway and they are the same thing.

For an entry into AEG's you might be able to find a full rifle or good mp5 on some crazy sale but for the most part you're going to be spending about 100 easy unless you want an AEP or low quality. I regard the mp7 as an AEP trying very hard to be an smg (which the real steel is) but in airsoft the gun has a small battery and lower power like an AEP (unless you want the TM version.......for $200+). However, I think this would be a perfect choice for your friend as its definately more than a pistol and fits his budget nicely. I would recommend buying a hicap mag as well as the stock one empties in under four seconds. It's compact, has a sick ROF, and does about 240 fps, which is respectable for its size.

Sorry about the link, I forgot. That is the one I was talking about. Right now, my friend uses a KWA g19 as his primary. Would that gun be better or worse as a primary? He is also thinkng af using them both a kind of "Co-primarys" if he gets it.

No, it's (supposed to be) an AEG.

G19 AEP?

What ever, I think he is better off with the G19, using propane.

Then let him save up so he can at least get an Echo 1, though from his experience level, I would recommend any high end except ICS.

His mom won't let him get an Echo 1 cause she thinks they hurt to much.

EDIT: And he has a gas gun, not an AEP. He is also thinking about a JG now. (I think)

I dont get it cuz JG does about the same fps so wouldnt they hurt as well? You're still looking at 100 bones at least even for a JG so if he wants to keep it under that I'd still say the mp7 is a good choice. I would personally just save the money and get a better gun for 130-200. As far as the mom thing.........you're on your own

Getting to the topic again: MP7 from Well is a good choice because every review I've read about it has been very positive

The JG is the MP-5 and it's the same price as the TSD. Also, even though it is the same, it SAYS that it shoots slower, so he could probably get it.

Yes, I know. She doesn't really like my gun, but there is nothing she can really do about it. Before I got my MP-5, his KWA g19 was the best gun, and everybody (Except me) was afraid of it. Now, I have my gun, every one is now buying AEGs, and they have become braver. But his mom won't let him get anything that shoots harder than his G19, which, according to the retailers, have 320 fps. ASGI also says that the JG shoots 320 (Even though it's more like 340) so he should be able to get it.

Thats what I told him, but he doesn't want to pay the money for an Echo 1.

He won't go for that. He won't lye to his mom, but he will go by the listed FPS, even if it is wrong, cause he thinks they get everything right.

Lie. And I dont think they know how to do that. Stop giving them bogus suggestions, and start the real advice. Have a talk with the mom, and see what she would like. Let her shoot you with the MP5 even(WHILE WEARING A MASK) to show that there is nothing to worry about.

You sound afraid of it. I never take a gun to a game without being shot first to know how much it hurts.

I have been shot with it many times, and I don't mind it much. But his mom for some reason thinks it hurts to much.

The first time I played, I expected it to be soft. It's called airsoft. Then I got shot with the gas gun. I like it more because it hurts, and as soon as I found out how hurting made it more fun for me, I couldn't stop playing if I wanted to.
