PostSubject: G18 AEP?   G18 AEP? EmptySat Sep 29, 2007 5:28 pm

I'm looking at getting a new sidearm since I picked up my first AEG. I saw these CYMA AEP's and they looked fairly decent. I'm sure the Mauri versions are much better, but I was wondering if these were a good deal or not.

Any help would be appreciated.

I dont know how to find this gun...if you could provide any links? I use an HFC M9 GBB and it works great...leaves quite a bruise.

njp1589, please don't believe RKI on this one, he is dead wrong.

CYMA has released some of the best MPEGs lately with their CM030,CM031,CM032, and their upcoming CM035.

They quality in these MPEGs rival JG and Echo 1.

Don't worry, the CM030 is a fine sidearm, as long as you get the version 2.

RKI, if you are going to be calling your self a "Medium Priced Gun Expertise". you have to keep up with the times, if you know what I mean Wink

Again, do some research and you will see they have been producing some excellent MPEGs lately.

Yeah, I did a little research, and it seems that people are impressed by this sidearm...

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_134&products_id=2074

It looks like a decent sidearm, though mags are a little pricey... Any links on the TM model?

Well... The TM is considerably more... So in this case, as funny as it sounds, the Cyma seems like the better idea...

Anyone using one?

They are not blow back, and the effective range is supposed to be around 75 ft.

The attractive part for me is that it's cheaper than most good gas pistols out there, and it doesn't come with the problems gas pistols do (ie: Gas Price(it's gonna go up, trust me), low temp=Low performance).

True... Propane works just as well then? I've heard you need to spray some lube down the barrel if you use it because it is a "dry gas."

And Green gas is R22 right?

My friend with a gas gun is about to switch to propane, because it's so much cheaper.

sorry to interrupt but all of you have gone off topic. If there is nothing further to discuss about the G18c AEP then this topic will be closed.

Right-o.

Actually, I had heard some really bad things about the hicaps mags for this gun, ie: doesn't fit 100 rds, misfeeds like mad, falls out of the gun... Anyone able to vouch for that?

If you are interested in G18c Hicaps, TM high caps are a must.

How big are they? That is; will they fit in a pistol mag pocket, or will I have to use a M16 mag pocket?

I own the gun (CYMA version 2) and I love it. It's true it isnt as powerful as a NBB gas gun but the range is decent for the price and the rate of fire is impressive. The hicap mags from CYMA work great and I have never had a misfire ever. They only hold 88 rounds or so, so they are a little less than the TM mags. THEY DONT HOLD 100 like some sites say they do. They have never fallen out of my gun, jammed, anything. They have all worked perfectly in my experience and I own 4 of them. The only headache with them is loading them. Once you get past 50-60 rounds it gets a little hard to feed the bb's in and if you slip you could release the entire clip. So just be careful. The mags themselves are just shy of nine inches long. I'd write a review of this gun but I'm too lazy. Go here: http://www.airsoftretreat.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=115&cat=29
for a pretty good review. Just ignore the power converter stuff since he got his from overseas and you wont need it if you buy within the US. I got mine from ShortyUSA for 50 I believe with a few hicap mags. Its fun to shoot and much quieter than an larger AEG. The fps is only abiout 230+ so its really only meant for closer ranges. The accuracy with .2's is amazing though. I'd say its way worth the dough BUT I would also look into the DE USP AEP as well. I have both guns, the glock is my favorite, but the USP out-performs the G18 and has a lot more metal components. Any more questions about this gun or the mags, I'm happy to help.
