MP5A5 convert to MP5K or MP5 PDW

Anyone know if it’s possible to convert a MP5A5 to an MP5K or PDW? It looks like they are just about the same; only thing is that the A5 has a longer barrel and grip. Can that be switched?

I have an Echo 1 Vector Arms MP5A5 which I want to convert to a PDW (just the front of it) so I can put a new RIS mount on it.

Is it possible to maybe change the barrel? I have not received it yet...it’s a Christmas present from my wife. Is the whole top all one piece? Maybe it can be bought as a replacement part and switched? Hmmm.

There are no conversion kits, though one could do it themselves. I thought of making one out of an old lpeg MP5A5 I used to have, but I figured the modification wouldn't look nearly as cool as if I had purchased a real MP5K.

As for the rails, you may be able to buy a new hand guard with rails on it. You wont get the shortened length like an MP5K, but still the rails.

What you can do, is get a shorter barrel, designed for an MP5K, and replace it. Find a new place to put the battery, and the rest is cosmetic work.

Whats wrong with just having an MP5a5?

I wanted a full metal AEG and this is clocked at over 400 fps. I will also get the A4 Solid Stock to put a larger battery in the back. (the MP5A4 was sold out when I bought this over the weekend)

I would have gotten the Echo1 that has it but I wanted a full metal version with the higher fps...just because. I was just wondering if there was a cheap way of getting that RIS to fit mine. I will have to see how the one I bought looks at christmas time, maybe I will like it with the Mad Bull Silencer I got attached to it. Just my preference, I like the look of the MP5 CQC better.

Well it'll be a complete overhaul of the gun...im not even sure its possible.
