| I I really like the look of this gun, and I have been thinking about considering getting this gun. I have done a little research, but I have not found out anything significant. does anyone know anything about this type of gun? Any hands on experience? I do know that JG makes one, and I am fairly surly there are at least two other brands as well. I am mostly interested in the JG one though.
Mods: I was not sure what section to put this in, hope this is ok.

| Lol what do you think I am, I would have put it in the AEG section if all the Dragunov airsoft guns were AEGs. But that is not the case. | |

| Well which one do you want to get? The JG is an AEG which resembles a SVD but a mechbox replaces the spring system and will run you around a benjamin without a scope. Now, after that the price range jumps....dramtically. You got the king arms spring which will set you back at least 500 without a scope but you'll get real wood/all metal with high quality parts (the sniper I've always wanted, personally) and then theres the G&P SVD which is a GBB but good luck finding one under 1500. If you're into the JG, it a good weapon (esp if you're a DM) but the parts are cheaper in quality so dont expect it to be the rifle of your dreams. Get a good scope on it however and its worth the money as long as you take care of it. From what I've read its also TM compatible so you can upgrade if need be, but the externals dont impress me. If you want a good DMR or a semi auto sniper I'd look into the realm of M14s or just save up for the king arms. | |

| Like I said, a pretty penny. If I had that kind of money I'd get a Barret M82 instead. But anyway, another option is the PSG1 which is also semi-auto but requires some upgrading to be decent. I doubt anyone on this forum has any hands on with an SVD, even the JG, so I'd do some research on it yourself and let us know. Its not a bad gun pefromance-wise so 100 bucks isnt bad. Its got a lot of metal on it and its long so keep that in mind. Knowing JG I'd say this gun is solid but it wont be top shelf in quality by any means. If you like the look of the gun though, give it a try. | |

If I had the money for the gas one, I would just by a Systema PTW.

Not at all, you seem to be missing the point. I am not going to have any money to get a airsoft gun for a while, i am simply curios about this style of gun. Thanks to the rest of you I got some good information.
