| i cant say the quietest gun because i havnt handled to many but with silencers, the dont help. the noise is created in the gear box and not eh bb leaving the barrel. maybe it would help in a gas gun, but i think they are just for show... | |

| ^You obviously haven't used a gun with a good silencer Unfortunately, the "good" ones are technically illegal through ATF's rules. I have an element 10" foam filled silencer, and it works like a charm. Makes the muzzle pop virtually disappear from 15-30' away. You still hear the gearbox, but that can be dealt with as well. | |

| In my experience silencers do stop the popping noise at the muzzle ,but the gear box still makes a good amount of noise. I've only heard roomers ,but still have never seen a silent gearbox. However, Booligan said that the gearbox can be dealt with as well so can you show us how with a link or something. Also, no aeg I have seen has that great of a sound difference from gun to gun. | |

| Quietest AEG I've ever heard was a JG AUG. The owner put in a silent piston and cylinder head set, shimmed it perfectly, and lined the inside of the body with thin foam sheets, and covered the gearbox with dynamat. Externally, he added a phantom silencer kit, which he made fully functional with some methods that I won't describe here to keep the site out of trouble.
You still heard it, but it was substantially quieter than any other AEG I've ever heard.
And prodigy, as far as I know, the KWA M4 is threaded 14mm- so pretty much any silencer will fit, as long as it is threaded 14mm-. For foam filled ones, you have to look overseas, at shops like WGC shop and Dentrinity.

| No you dont, Trinityairsoft.com sells foam filled silencers. I bought a TM short type pro silencer from them. I cant say all their silencers are foam filled, but that particular one is. Email them in advance just to make sure | |

| ^Nice find. It's a legal grey area, since some airsoft mock silencers CAN fit on real guns, and while it most likely won't silence it much, if at all, (and the foam will burn/blow off and the can will probably burst) according to ATF rules, if it is capable of silencing by even 1dB, then it must be manufactured by a properly licensed company, and is subject to background investigation and a $200 tax stamp.
They generalize all foam filled silencers as such, and they get snagged in customs upon import, which is why it's surprising to see a foam filled one in a US shop. You can ge tthem in through some HK stores because they usually label small shipments as gifts, and customs never touches them.
