| Good goggles and face protection are just as important as the gun is.
I hate to keep quoting WNYAL members, but a majority of them (about 95% plus) recommend ESS goggles, some with fans, some without. I don't have any, and since my lab goggles do the job pretty well, I use those. For face protection... that's up to you. Head wraps and similar devices seem to be the best option, though I wouldn't expect them to provide the same kind of protection you might get in a face mask.
It's important to protect your eyes, teeth, etc. You may think it's a bit annoying to aim with a face mask, but remember that it'd be even more so difficult to aim without an eye, for the rest of your life, most likely. And a chipped tooth wouldn't be any fun either, so just be sure to use common sense and dress appropriately when you go out shooting. -Bert.

| Maybe a chipped tooth can happen through a shemeigh or a balacava. ANd if you ever go to CQB city, you will want a full mask | |

| Right I have been thinking about it, and the airsoft field near me only allows full masks. And I think I would feel more comfortable with one on. | |

| I do Seqouia is Great, maybe some time, we can meet up and go there. Also they may fog up, so you might want to put a little anti fog on there. My suggestion is not a walmart one, but the flex that they sell at AEX, the half though. with no cap top. = more confortable. It isnt made out of hard plastic either but it is $65 | |

$65 Sequoia is a National State Park,in which case making it most likely ILLEGAL to play there. I also condone playing in such places where nature should be left alone, and not shot up by white pellets even though they are Bio-degradeable. Anywho ive seen players who just drilled holes into their masks to increase ventilation. (Holes are obviously smaller than 6mm)

| The mask on there, is a big tough piece of plastic. Not very Flexible, and not very confurtable. The flex on the other hand has more ventilation, and is more confortable. It does not have the cap top, and is like the smoth textured plastic. It fits better on your face. | |

It is a real field, I am hoping I will be able to go there soon. ....i'm having an off day...sorry again..lol You should just get what you'll feel safer with. After all, as long as it protects what you want, it doesnt really matter.

| even though you get used to a mouthguard, they're still harder to talk with. I use a paintball mask with the right side cut out so I could aim with my sniper. I don't get hit in the face too much, but a mask is still pretty nice to have. The only problem is that it is really hot on a warm day, and it gets nice and sweaty and fogged up. I really prefer to use my glasses, but the shemagh idea sounds pretty smart, I may try that. | |

I use the exact same setup, and it works great. Arena FlakJaks are great goggles, the the Shemagh is comfortable and breathable to use all day.

| I use a full mask because people where I play always seem to get shot in the face, i even shot a kid in the mouth and chipped a huge chunk off his tooth, and that was literally the first time that he didn't wear a full face mask. | |

| ye....well, ive worn a mask the whole time ive been in airsoft...
YOU CANT AIM, the stupid mouth/chin cover part of the mask blocks you because it hits the stock and if you dont mind not aiming then ok,
My personal choice would be to get a ski mask thing that covers your face, im getting 1, its like just a belcro thing that you rap arond your whole face. my frinds have them their great you can barely even kno if you shot

This is my field, they only allow full masks. So I will learn how to aim with it on. I would rather have a little inconvenience aiming rather than a chipped tooth.
