| I have heard from other memebers of this forum that it does clear 410 out of the box, many people I know say its great and performs flawlessly, besides the bad magazine feed, I will be playing one tommorrow (friday) and I will also try it out, I will post more about it later (ECHO 1 614, basicly the same) | |

| thats very interesting because every review i have read or watched has said that asgi has tested it at 410-450 fps, im thinking to use the hk 416 instead of the jg m4s-system because ive been hearing that the s system breaks down pretty easily | |

| I have heard that to, but I also have heard that the 614 usees a spring system to advance for the rest of the mechbox giving it a much shorter life than the other guns, since they dont have the perfect mechbox which can much better handel a better spring | |

| I was thinking of picking up a JG 416 for a project gun
I want it able to compete of the highest of highends
I already know it is very accurate, but iwth slow ROF
So I was concidering Spring guide, Bushings, tappet plates, and Motors, and a new piston head, maybe a better shim job.
What else? | |

| how about a weaker spring? Unless you want it shooting ~380fps with, i dunno, a rof of 16+? | |

| I was looking at a guarder infinate Torque Motor, unless there is a better version, also getting in a 9.6v into the crane stock. I think it should run fine off a M110, Ill replace that at last resort. What does anyone else think, also list brands that you think would make it the best, I dont really have an upgrade budget just keep it under $2000 | |

| Yeah I was looking at the DB customs.
What would I have to change if I want to run the gun off a PTW 12v Crane stock battery. Gears and Piston are the obvious, but what else

| I have a JG HK 416 and it shot around 410 out of the box. I had to "upgrade" to a less powerful spring to play scenario games tho. now it shoots 350-390fps. the gearbox is full metal and very well made. I have had no problems with it. It's nothing like a Echo 1 614. | |

| get the one with a PEQ box, the ones with the batteries in the stock are a pain in the butt. and get a weaker spring so you will be able to use it in games without people crying about how hard it shoots | |

| The only thing I really didn't like about the 416 was the firing noise. It was like a "spring-thoink" noise, that sounded like crap frankly. It sounded just plain cheap.
Now, some of you will say "It's just a sound, what does it matter?"
Sound is a great indication of materials used, as well as general build quality, and what I could tell from the 416's firing sound was: 1. Thin gearbox shell - the sound came through way too easily for the body to be thick enough for long life, especially in the cold. I expect to see more than a few reports of snapped shells in the winter.
2. Poor body-gearbox tolerences - the resonating effect of the sound was probably due to large gaps between the body and gearbox. You wan't no gaps here because gaps cause flex, and eventually form body weak spots.
It's a good gun, but too many new players get caught up with "FPS is high so the gun must be great" and honestly, high FPS is the last thing new players need. I just wouldn't get it if you're not comfortable opening up a gun and fixing stuff.

| Yeah my friend has the JG 416 and it is very loud. Like booligan said, the gun doesn't sound very good. His has been holding up fine, but it has not seen over 20,000 rounds. (rough estimate) I don't really trust the gearbox in the gun because for one, it is using an m120, second, it is a standard JG gearbox, third, the sound is really odd. (spring kind of rattles almost)
The gun is amazingly accurate though. I don't know if they used a different type of hop up or barrel, but it is much more accurate than other E1s/JGs. (MP5s, M4s, G36C)
It would be a great DM with a tightbore. It would also be a great DM because the ROF is very slow and since DMs usually only use semi, it would be great. (I know slow ROF is not a good thing, but....it fits a DM)
Overall, it performs amazing for a JG/E1, but it doesn't sound like it will last very long and you would need to upgrade the motor if you want a good ROF.
