| My friend is looking into buying and m203 launcher and a grenade to go with it, any recommendations, how is the E1 M203? He doesn't want to spend too much $$$. And good grenades? | |

| I assume launchers are launchers since they don't really do anything but hold/fire the grenade. I think grenades are something you should be worried about.
I may be wrong. I believe madbull makes good grenades.

| Stealth, you're exactly right.
The lower capacity (60-90 round) KA shells are good, and are cheap. You can usualyl find them for $85 for 3 shells. I use the Madbull XM203 launcher because it fits on anything with a rail (Anything, even pistols), it'll fire pretty much any shell, and they're solid metal. They don't resemble any real grenade launcher, and they use a push button firing system, but it works the first time, every time.

| Yay I'm right for once so how come launchers cost so much then? Is it for like licensing reasons? (since some are modeled after real launchers) Since they don't have many functioning parts, I don't see why they can charge so much other than the fact people will pay that much. I hope this isn't OT btw. How many grenades do you want to buy? Personally, for as much as they charge for launchers, I'd rather buy another gun. (you also have to buy gas and shells which gets pretty pricey) Whatever floats your boat I'm sure the E1 launcher will be fine. | |

| ^They cost so much because usually they are decently made (usually), heavy (therefore expensive to ship), and yes, because people will pay. Plus they are usually made by high end companies, not ACM makers.
Now, there ARE Chinese made launchers, like the Echo 1 (2 Roy is who makes it), and there are cheaper ones on gunner and RSOV. I'm interested in the new CNC machined GP30 for AK's made by Danmu. I may pick one up on my next Gunner order.

| I was just about to start an M203 topic... Anyhow, I was thinking of getting a madbull launcher, and I had a few questions: 1) What kind of range should I expect max. from a say 60 round shell, and what from a 120 round shell? 2) I plan on putting this on the SIG 552 by JG. Should I get the short version, or the long version? (Pics of what the two look like on that would be perfect). Thanks, -Bert. | |

| 1. With a KA 60 rounder, expect about 50' straight, or 100' arced. With a 120 rounder, it'll be about the same, but with double the payload of BBs. 2. I'll try and take a pic with the long in a few days. All my guns are packed up for my move this weekend, so it could be difficult. I can't help you with the short, as I don't have one | |

| Oh, well that answers number two also, since I've seen your 552 review just now with the madbull, meaning the one you used is the long version. (that's the one I liked anyhow).
I don't play a lot of CQB, but I still think it might not be a bad idea to get one of these. Just need a bit of cash first though lol.

| The big thing with shells is alternative payloads. Once you have shells, you can build mortars and RPG's that shoot nerf footballs, dummy grenades, etc...
In CQB, shells with BBs are absolutely decimating. Pop one down the hall and people WILL be out, lol. In woodland, not so much, but still fun and intimidating.

| The CA M203, is also pretty good, but I would get a madbull. | |
