I've watched mechbox.com videos on how to open up the gearbox and I can't get my retaining plate off the V3 G36 mechbox. (the plate on the top) It refuses to slide off. (even if I use a screwdriver)
any advice?

Pry it harder. The catch is at the front, you just need to get it above it.

GEEZ man that thing was hard to get off!
I now have a problem........I opened my gearbox........and I don't know how to put back together the trigger assembly inside the mechbox..............
I think I will take it in to my local store and have them put it back together. (I'll ask if they can show me how to do it)
The reason I opened it up is; 1- My gearbox started to sound like the gears were grinding. (there was no damage, but I think it needs to be regreased) and 2. I need the experience.
I could probably get it back together working fine using mechbox.com's videos, but I just don't know how to get the trigger assembly.......assembled. lol
I know it was a foolish thing for me to do, but I didn't think that it was that complicated............

V3 trigger assemblies are notorious for being a PITA to install. I don't like working on V3's because of it, lol...

yeah, I was either going to send it into ASGI for their maintenance thingy or I might take it down to my local store. Idk, what do you think would be better? (I will probably go with the cheapest option because I'm not exactly rolling in the benjamins) lol
V3s are some of the most durable gearboxes.........if you can get them back together.............lol

well Mechbox.com uses an AK V3 gearbox in their videos and they don't explain how to assemble the trigger system.
I didn't have a video to follow how to do the trigger system.
so this will work for a G36 too?
Thanks hartwig and booligan
