I cannot say when for sure, but hopefully this next skirmish (Sat, weather permitting) I will try to get out the ol' measuring tape and start testing the maximum and max effective ranges of the different guns.
The group has some TMs and a handful of higher end gas sniper rifles so I should be able to get some data that will be representative of the MPEGS and the HPEGS as well as springers and gas.
My working hypothesis is that there is "ceiling" that most airsoft guns will not be able to exceed.
Well see if it holds.
Im going to TRY to test fps at the target as well as at the muzzle so perhaps well be able to see how much speed the bb loses at range.
Im going to use containers to test that accuracy of the guns and basically put a barrel of some kind at 100' 150' and 200' and count how many bbs make it in.
Then Ill try to use smaller containers to see how small the target can be at max range.
Stay tuned!
