| Ok so I have been saving up for a while, and I now have the money to get a High end AEG. But now, what one? I have been planing on getting the TM P90, but now that I finally have the money, I don't want to make the wrong choice and get a gun that will not make me happy. A few days ago I shot my friends TM M4, and I was very impressed with the feel. Not so much with the feel of the M4 design, but the TM internals felt nice and smooth, I was very impressed. So I think I want to get a TM. But I have also heard that all TMs basically have the same internals so really you just have to choose the model. And the FPS on TMs are a little low ... I am not really a huge fan of common guns, I like to shake things up. I am a sorta a big guy as well, I am about six three. I have around 350$-370$ to spend. I would like to buy this next AEG at my local walk in store, this is there site... http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/Any help is greatly appreciated! | |

| Ehh, my JG AK convinced me not to get another JG. And I figure that the High ends are High priced for a reason. SCARS are not really my bread and butter. Oh and buying it at that walk in store is sorta a must. | |

| Not to mention that almost all TM guns have a ton of accessory's. Is it true that all TM guns have the same internals? | |

| Pretty much. The problem is that they only sell the G&G L85A1 at AEX wich has the same FPS as the TMs. So you would spend another 40 dollars at AEX to upgrade the spring. You can buy the A2 at Airsoftgi. | |

| Well TM's mostly have the same internals but the gearboxes are different versions depending on the models. | |

| Right, are there any gearboxes that are more prone to give me problems then others? | |

| Well, the V1s and V2s of course are going to be less durable then the others. I would say the P90s are the best choice with the V6 gear box. If you want the most strong gear box. Get the Star L85, for about 300 more. Since it has the special Lexon Polycarbonate Gearbox. Which is considerbaly Stronger than metal | |

He yeah right, I am already spending more then I would like. If I were to get a L85, I would get the ARMY , 160 dollar model.

| The version 3 gearbox is supposed to be great. All M4's and M16's have the version 2 gearboxes which are more prone to breaking. | |

| So the TM P90 would be very good then? Seeing as how it has a V6 according to fdsakiller. | |

| Ask airsoft guy. he has a P90, I believe they did say that it has a V6. The P90 is very accurate at ranges, for its size. And is a great CQC weapon. It is light, and the battery fits really well in it. | |

Wrong. The V1 is literally one of the strongest and most durable gearboxes that you can buy. I have NEVER seen a broken V1 in all my years of doing this.

| ^They can be, if you combine high spring rates with cold temps, but generally, they are ok. Just keep it below 450 FPS or so. | |

| V2 are M16s, MP5s, M4s, G3. V3 are AUG, G36, AK-47, sometimes the SIG 552 (it is also V2 sometimes), and some other guns. V7 are M14s I believe. V6 is the P90.
I read somewhere that the V6 gearbox in the P90 is the best designed gearbox out there.

| Enjoy. And all Sig 55X series are V3's, just an FYI. EDIT: ICS 55X may be something different, we'll wait and see.

| Wow, very nice. So what are the differences between gearboxes? Besides the obvious, size and what model they fit into. | |

| Size, shape of internal components, layout of gears and motor, features (precocking, 3 shot burst), thickness of metal in certain areas, etc... | |

| OK, so some gearboxes are better than others right? Or superior to others in some way. | |

| Is there a fancy diagram that can tell me what is better and what is worse? Or do I have to find that out my self? Really what I need to know is what will last me the longest and have great performance. Well all TMs have great performance right? So really I just want to know what ones last longer than others. | |
