| Hey people, I'm an aspiring airsofter looking for a first REAL aeg. My first REAL one, because I started out airsofting with a Crosman PulseR70. It's not really a very good gun as you probably figured, unless you want to a: just put alot of bb's in the air for a low price or b: you're playing with some sissy people, and it'll fit the bill Other than that gun, I have a spring sniper ( a descent one ), a spring m14 (cheap but very nice), a spring pistol (plastic, broke resently), and a spring shotgun(cheap, plastic, a fair gun none the less) To make a long story short, I decided I want something with lots of firepower, looks awesome, and is really fun to waste people with . I'm currently stuck between the ECHO 1 X36C, and a UTG Full Metal M4. The M4 is full metal (dah) 360 fps, looks super sweet, has a pretty good ROF, aaaaaaand it's $300. (almost $400 with all the stuff I'll need with it) I dont have buckets and buckets of money, and this is my largest airsofting investment yet soooo... a: Might be able to get it for Christmas if I threw in $100-150 b: I could buy it myself and my wallet would have a heart attack c: Or I could get something else..? follow the link to see the M4 - http://www.shortyusa.com/cart/index.html?UID=1192575672-71.193.248.19&RID=1&NL=&kiosk=Or I could buy the ECHO 1 X36C. Weighs 6lb, instead of the M4 8lbs about. Costs $160, $230-250 with all the stuff I would get along with it. Made of durable plastic of some sort, 350 fps, looks awesome, folding stock. It probably wont be as durable, and I might be able to get the M4 if I wait a while. follow the link to see the ECHO 1 X36C - http://www.shortyusa.com/cart/index.html?UID=1192508581-71.193.248.19&RID=1&NL=&kiosk=So basically, should I just get the cheaper but still good gun, which might be good for a beginner-mid lvl aeg, or should I wait a bit and get the big bad, expensive more advanced M4? Please enlighten me. Thanks and sorry about the HUGE post! | |

| ok a. never buy from shortyusa b. airsoftgi is generally the best retailer c. airsplat was bad, but is making a turn around. So I am getting this, and selling my Echo 1 G36C. BAsically , G&G sold guns for like 300, but the only thing they changed was full metal to plastic, which has proved very relaiable. You will also need to get a battery and charger, so around 250 isnt bads for this gun at all. d. Never get full metal UTG, just buy CA or ICS. Edit: C-l-a-s-s-i-c army. Someone needs to fix the word censor | |

| Welcome to Airsoft Reports, and huge posts are most definitely welcome too So basically what I am interpreting from your post is that you need an AEG that can fulfill its duties, with out any hedited obscenityle or huge price tags. So I will just answer your posts straight down. ________________________________________________ Get something else, The M4 is not worth its price tag, and you can not call it an advanced AEG. If you are into full metal M4s, and you don't want to end up with a pot metal UTG, check this out: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_107&products_id=2651Its cheaper, performs better, you get cool trades on a magnesium alloy receiver that feels good to the touch. FPS is awesome, clocking in at around 350 FPS, and with a 9.6v battery you could get 1100 RPM easy! Something to definitely look into. ______________________________________________________________ Or I could buy the ECHO 1 X36C. Weighs 6lb, instead of the M4 8lbs about. Costs $160, $230-250 with all the stuff I would get along with it. Made of durable plastic of some sort, 350 fps, looks awesome, folding stock. It probably wont be as durable, and I might be able to get the M4 if I wait a while. follow the link to see the ECHO 1 X36C. ________________________________________________________ The Echo 1 G36c(note that x36c is just a advertising name for the G36c) It is a good gun...you can see this sites review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MNQ7mcqAJA._______________________________________________________ So in conclusion, the G&G M4 blows the echo 1 G36c and the UTG M4 out of the water, but it does have a price tag of 260$. That would be the best choice for you, or any G&G gun for that matter. Go with the Echo 1 if you want, just stay away from the UTG M4, and ShortyUSA. | |

| Shortyusa is a horrible company, stay away, also avoid speedytoys like the bubonic plague. Best retailers are Airsoftgi and Airsplat. As for the UTG M4, it looks nice I agree, but at $300 you can get a better M4 for less money actually. Here are the M4's I recommend for your purchase: Cl@ssic ArmyG&GICS with battery, charger, and bb'sFor a G36c [X36c] I would recommend the Echo1 to you. ___________________________________________________________________________ Being your first AEG, I would order just the basic gear for my AEG {battery, charger, and bb's}. | |

| If you are willing to spent $300 on a gun, buy CA, ICS, G & G.... but not UTG.
If you want to buy a G36C than buy the Echo 1 with metal bushings. | |

| Out of those 2 guns, I would ALWAYS get the Echo 1 over the UTG. | |

| On that note, its never worth spending $300 on a UTG. | |
