| OK so ICS goes Plastic! but not with M4s, but with Mp5s! (note that this was copy and pasted off of Arniesairsoft.co.uk , original article off of airsoftnews.eu ) - Quote :
- Airsoft News EU is reporting that ICS has made the leap that G&G and Classic Army recently made in constructing plastic body airsoft replicas!
QUOTE Yet another news from ICS. Success of Chinese replicas is (probably) hurting sales of big companies and introduction of ABS bodied replicas is clearly a temporary solution. Latest plastic replica from first tier manufacturer are ICS' MP5 A4 and MP5 A5:
For the entry level and welcome new players?ICS released MP5 in plastic ver.
Internal parts are absolutely same as metal ver and design?very easily to modify from plastic to metal receiver.
Easy maintenance and fast dis/assemble design. "Looks like we have more affordable airsoft options. I for one hope this trend goes well. I would rather grab a quality plastic bodied gun from a trusted manufacturer than a less reliable clone in most cases. Then again those clones are improving everyday and China is offering more and more original designs too. Only time will tell I guess. " Also ICS will be releasing their 2008 Anniversary limited edition guns http://airsoftnews.eu/e107_images/newspost_images/ics_aniv_2007_1710.jpg

| The internals are the same, just no metal body.
Thats the whole point..sell them for less because they dont have a metal body, but keep the same internals so people will want to buy them.

| @ OvermedicateD Good point, but cost more to produce a gearbox than the metal body. | |

| Probably not much less than the metal bodied.
If this keeps up, and Echo 1 doesn't do anything, I think they will start loosing money quickly. What I like about this, is that you get WHAT MATTERS MOST (The High end internals) and you get it for much less. But there will always be the people who won't spend the extra $30 and will buy the JG instead. I know a guy who has like $500 saved up, and he knows that every one who has an Echo 1 is happy, but he won't spend the extra $50, and so he got a well. When we played yesterday, he was using a spring pistol, cause his well had broken. There are also the people who live in caves and don't know about any of the plastic bodied high ends. So if the MPEGs die, it will, I think be very slowly. They will not make nearly as much money though.

| I hope MPEG's never die.
If theres no competition to keep each other in check, things get out of control fast.

| Yea I doubt they will die becuase as airsoft guy proved there are people out there who won't pay the extra money to get a lot better of a gun. | |

| @Prodigy, don't call people who buy MPEGs idiots, they want a gun that is cheap, will perform well, and is as reliable as they can get for the price. | |
