| Ok so my 8yro cousin is getting a gun he isnt big enough for most guns and doesnt want to spend lots of money and alos he is going to need something durrable. So I reccomended a springer bc aegs are just going to break. I am wondering if you have reccomendations has to be under $75.
Thank you prodigy | |

| Yeah, you don't want to buy any AEG under $100, even if it is a KWA. I also recomend a UTG Shotgun. (I know, I know Airsoftguy, don't flip out...) | |

| Thanks Captain you HAD to invoke AG's famous UTG rant. Ok guys this kid's friggin EIGHT! I teach so I know what that age group is capable of. First off, stick to springers for his first gun. Secondly, I would not let any kid under 10 get his hands on a gun which can pierce a can, so get him something like 280 tops. If you let an eight year old have free reign with anything over 300 you're an idiot and I hope you never have kids. Get him some good glasses too. Dont go overboard with this one. I'd start him off with a nice spring pistol at first and see how it goes from there. | |

| For a good starter pistol, I'd recomend the UHC M1911. It only shoots at around 200 FPS w/ .2g BB. | |

| I think he will get the desert eagle spring pistol he really likes it and drummer dude he cant handle a gun that big he has tried to shoot my utg m324 and he can get a pretty high powered gun because he isnt stupid and his parents are VERY smart and cautious so he wouldn't have free acces to it. | |

| Stay away from EBB's. They aren't worth the money. | |

| I would judge the AEG or springer I purchase on my kids responsibility. Having a gun at a young age helps enforce gun awareness and gun safety. | |

Get a KWC Colt Delta Elite Range-100 feet, power-240 fps with .2s, accuracy-70 feet is very consistent. It is a very accurate and durable pistol that can be found at walmart for 20 bucks and it comes with a sticky target. Or you can find it at shortyusa.com I'd check walmart, because at walmart, it comes with a sticky target and it's clear, so you can see how many bbs are left in the clip. You can buy extra mags for it for 8 bucks for two. (they each hold 12 and are speed load type) I love mine Great springer

| Let me represent the UTG Mp5 aeg. Please only allow your son to use this aeg under adult supervision.
I have chosen this aeg for several reasons. ~Cheap ~Low fps, 280 ~Allows your son to try both stocks, a4 and a5 ~2 magazines ~battery and charger ~Allows your son to get introduced to an aeg, will he enjoy pulling back a spring for every shot? ~If you fear the fully automatic function, allow only single
Most of you will now flame me until the topic is locked.

| an airsoft buddy has that M14
Great springer, but M14's are pretty darn big. (especially for an 8 year old)
I'd get the MP5 or go to shortyusa and check out the spring FAMAS. (Almost everyone owns the spring FAMAS and it's great)

| Let me just ask quickly, am I the only one that thinks it's not so good of an idea to give an 8 year old a gun? | |

I'd have to agree with ya Bert... Though Becoming makes a good point by saying it teaches gun awareness and responsibility. Though, it could most likely get the kid in more trouble...

| The gun should remain locked up in the parents room, his son should only have access of the replica under adult supervision. This would make the replica near safe. Learning gun safety at a young age is not bad, same with awareness.
Personally, I would make him wait till he is older, maybe 12.
Till then he should be playing with GI joes...

| I learned how to shoot real steel firearms by the time I was 6 or 7. I was told how to treat guns, and I never did anything dangerous with them, and to this day, I handle airsoft guns MUCH safer than my friends who didn't start until they were 12, and only have airsoft guns. As long as he is told about gun safety and stuff, it should be perfectly safe, and maybe better than if he is older. | |

| Yes, Spring famas's are good. You can get them at walmart.
I suggest just going to a sporting goods store and picking up something, maybe a good spring pistol for a start.

| LOL...8 years old is quite young...
But I guess my question is...r u asking bc you're buying it for him and don't want a young child to inevitably break an expensive airsoft gun.
Or simply to get an idea of what everyone thinks regarding airsoft gun selection for an 8yo?
Assuming its the former (The first), I would definitely suggest XYZ brand springer...
But you might think about a shotgun instead of a pistol as it could be difficult to cock the slide on a pistol.
I would of course NEVER recommend that you do anything w/o his parents explicit consent and supervision.
Best of luck! | |

| ^Same with me.I have shot bb guns and a few real steel guns since the age of about 8. I am MUCH better at gun safety than my friends who only shoot airsoft guns. As long as his parents show some responsibility, he should be fine. Now as for the gun. I think for an 8 year old, who will pretty muh only be plinking in the backyard, a sniper rifle will be perfect. I know when I was 8 I thought snipers were the collest thing ever. How about this? http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_113&products_id=1898 | |
