Giving an eight year old a gun is not very smart as I think about it. He is young and could easily hurt himself or someone around him. What if he goes to school and tells the teachers he shot his dads .45 in the backyard not knowing its a bad thing?

I don't know how you got to that conclusion, because the TSD M14 is over 6 pounds. Its also 40 inches, which is way to long for some one the size of your cousin.

just get him a crossman shot gun they have low fps and make a cool sound when you cock them that i still enjoy after ten or so years:) plus they are cheap like 50$ at a sports authority
