It's plastic w/ metal parts; and the plastic is MUCH higher quality than Echo 1 plastic.

When they say it is plastic, they mean that the receiver is made from plastic. But remember, this is not plastic that you would see on an Echo 1.

This is nylon fiber. Its thicker, stronger, and overall better than the plastic on a Echo 1 or any ACM for that matter.

So in summary, the receiver is nylon fiber, but everything else that is metal on the real steel, is metal on this gun.

I have a JG M4 and the GR16 the jg m4 weighs ALOT more the GR16 is extremely light. Also the barrel on the G&G is shorter.

No. The probably have the same amount of metal parts.

Its most likely because the Nylon Fiber on the G&G weights less, than the plastic used on the JG and Echo 1s.

The jg has more metal parts than the GR16 definately and the barrel is very small on the GR16 proaly a couple inches shorter than the JG but I think it is metal and the rail is plastic on both guns I think I might be wrong though.

Yep, thats probably why, the JG has a longer barrel which gives it more weight.
