upgrades upgrades upgrades.....

Hey everybody. I have noticed the guys i play with are roughly....30-50 fps higher than my gun. i think my gun just needs a few goodies. Now I have never ever upgraded any airsoft gun so i am walking blind here. But im willing to give it a try. I have taken my gun apart to a degree without watching any videos. I own an Echo1 M16A4 and i wanted to know what upgrades will give me more fps and are fairly simple to do. Please only post if you know what your talking about... If you have no idea how to do something dont suggest it. Thanks.

Well if you can't tell I am big tight bore barrels and with airsoftgi now carrying them they are much easier to get. Here is the link http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=3044. I am pretty sure that it will fit into your gun I have one for my UTG M324 and it increased the fps slightly and made the accuracy amazing. I think if you got this you would easily compete with all your friends. As for other upgrades I don't know much. I hope this helps.

nah i dont clean the barrel regularly and looks complicated to install... but thanks anyway

Barrel and hop-up installs are the easiest upgrades to do, especially on an AR series weapon.

Anything else will require you to open the gearbox, and if you don't want to do a barrel, then I doubt you want to open a gearbox.

I vote DB customs 6.01mm tightbore barrel, coupled with a madbull bucking/element nub hop-up set.

As for the install, take out the rear pin on the lower receiver, tilt the upper receiver forwards, slide out the barrel and hop-up. THenm take out the little plastic c-clip holding the barrel to the hop-up, and slide the barrel out of the hop-up. Replace the bucking with the new one, ensuring the bump on the inside goes into the cut-out notch in the barrel. Then, take out the pin on the hop-up arm, and lift the arm, exposing the stock nub. Replace the nub with the element nub, and reassemble, ensuring that the nub goes over the notch in the barrel, and the arm goes over the nub.

Sounds complicated, but when it's in front of you, it's the easiest upgrade possible.

Well, for the spring, if it shoots lower FPS, put in a gaurder 110 spring. I have done that with my TM MP5A5 and it raised the FPS to 380, but you do have to put in metal bushings to handle the new spring, it wont effect the life.
