| Price, lol.
Also, most "low-end" AEGs come from mainland China, while the higher end ones come from Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
The line now between high end and mid end is beginning to be grey, with most mid end AEGs now outperforming their high end counterparts, and in some cases, being made with better materials and lasting longer. The majority of high end guns do have better build quality, but the Chinese factories are starting to do a better and better job getting these things built.
Now, there will always be a market for high ends because there are a lot of brand queens out there who will only buy high end, even if there are much better, much cheaper options.

| You would have to do more upgrades than that. Better motor, better piston, just a flat out better gearbox. Also MOST high ends have metal bodies and MOST mid ends have plastic bodies. | |

If you feel like giving it the title yourself, sure. Just adding parts to a mid end gun doesn't make it a high end gun, at least not in the eyes of the high end purists out there. To them, the only high end guns are TM, CA, G&G, STAR, G&P, ICS, etc... To them, a JG, DBoys, CYMA, Echo 1, or any other Chinese made gun will never be a high end, even if you tossed in $1000 worth of parts. Honestly, to me, I don't care what they call my guns. If I can get a gun that outperforms and outlasts their $400 one for less than $150, then who cares if it is a so called mid end gun, you know?

| Also cheap guns, are much easier to replace when broken, since they are about half the price. | |
