L85 Gearbox Assembly

I have an Army L85A1 (G&G clone) and I only removed the top half to put in a new spring and metal spring guide. Now I have the complete top and bottom halves of the gearbox and I have to put them back together. The problem is that when I go to put the top and bottom together it doesn't go. I hooked together the front and then put the tappet plate piece in, but then it stops and the back end wont go down so I can't put the pin back in. The tappet plate piece will not go in all the way for some reason. Do you guys have any idea on what I can do because it wont go in . Thanks!

Can you try to get us some photos of your gearbox, those will be the most helpful to us.

Also try looking at other similare gearboxes dissasembled for a reference.

This what I'm trying to accomplish. My gearbox is the same as the one in the video. The guy makes it look so easy. Also, I did not touch the gears or tappet plate so they should be unaffected so there should be no misalighnments ,but the still will not go together.
