| So the silencers with no black tips or technically not allowed? Also, do the people at your local arenas let you not have the tips. | |

If that was addressed to me, I run my local field, so I make the rules, lol... There's no reason to need orange tips at a closed field if you think about it. If it's a closed field, then everyone who is there would know that the guns aren't real, so why would you need an orange tip? Personally, I think the whole orange tip thing is retarded, because it's very easy to paint an orange tip on a real gun. A cop won't hesitate to shoot you if it has an orange tip or not, so that's why I just keep my guns cased until I get to the field.

| Got it off Evike I have never used it on the gun but at OPs you should have them for safety kills. Which it works well in and it does have clamps so I assume it would fit it fits well on mine.

| technicaly you do not have to have the orange tip. i have read an article that states that any object that propels an object is considered a firearm. legaly you can carry a rifle anywhere (unless designated otherwise) so if you cover up the orange tip it tecnicaly becomes a rifle thus being totaly legal to carry around. orange tips on a pistol on the other hand have to stay on if you are to carry it off of your land(you can take it off and be on your land and noone can say anything) if you mean to sell the weapon you have to have the orange tip to clasify it as a non lethal weapon. you can also get a pistol license for those fully trademarked pistols with individual license numbers | |

| ^Once again, the law varies state by state. And I promise that if you bring an airsoft pistol to a police station to get registered and receive a registration card, then you will be laughed at tremendously, and told to leave for wasting their time.
In no way, shape, or form do you ever need to register ANY airsoft gun in the US, pistol, rifle, grenade launcher, etc, orange tip or not.
Also, there's no such thing as a "pistol license" You register your gun and receive a registration card, but it's not a license. Anyone, 21 and over (in most states) who isn't a current felon can get a pistol, more or less. If you don't have a current registration card, then you need to wait 72 hours, IIRC. If you have a current card, you can get your gun then and there.
Where did you read this info?

| Booligan, CMAC, avoid quoting law on here because the laws (State laws) DO vary so much as you just said. Plus, I dont want this to turn into a real steel discussion OR even worse have people relying on potentially inaccurate info. I will say this, lots of people don't realize that gun laws can be made by the State AND Federal Gov't(s). Many people don't realize that the orange tip reg. is a FEDERAL law and it may not directly apply to the individual ownership of BB guns. The CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) that applies can be found here http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text/text-idx?c=ecfr&sid=fe6593e6c18f07b9f6b29ffca8409aa9&rgn=div5&view=text&node=15:3.1.3.7.1&idno=15Generally, from what I have seen the orange tip regulation applies to SHIPPING and RECEIVING bb guns. In reference to bringing airsoft guns into the open in public I would really have to advise against that kind of behavior. We all know how gun shy the public at large is ESPECIALLY when they see younger people carrying them. Lots of times all people will see is the shape and NEVER notice the orange tips. | |

| I thought it was a federal law and not a state law because all airsoft guns I've seen in the U.S. all have the orange tips and also I remember reading it somewhere. | |

| I'm avoiding quoting law here, but the jist is: There is a federal law requiring orange tips during shipping, but none regarding keeping them on after it has been shipped.
That's where the state laws come in.

| Oh, ok so when the gun is shipping within or to the U.S. an orange tip is required ,but depending on which state it is being used in it may or may not still be required. | |

| Not so great photo, but it works. My current setup: (I am sorry but unlike my brother I am very bad at taking pictures, especially in low lit conditions)CA M15A4 Carbine 9.6v 2200 mAh battery (Still wired to the front) King Arms Red dot ECHO 1 Crane stock New wiring and connectors Systema M120 Spring Systema Hopup unit & Bucking Currently in the ~20 degree weather I've recently been able to test it in, it's shooting like a champ. Fixing up the motor height and rewiring it a bit really helped boost ROF, and overall it's running very effeciently. The Systema Hopup and bucking has provided much better grouping than the stock hopup unit and I haven't had any "flyers" yet. I may have some future plans (tightbore, etc) but for now I am very much satasfied with the way it is. Plus, after buying some of those things, I'm broke. -Bob. | |
