| I have a friend of mine who wants to get his first AEG, and wants an AK-47. I was wondering, of the following, which would be the best choice:
-Echo1 AK 47 Tactical- -Echo1 AK 47 Tactical Side Folder- -Echo1/Vector Arms AK 47 RAS (full metal)- -JG AK 47 RIS-
He wants to play as SSG, so he's gonna get a AIM Drum mag to go with it. My thoughts are that full metal is nice, but not neccesary. The side folder adds manuverability, but sacrifices battery life because of a stick battery. I tend to lean more towards telling him to get the Echo1 tactical, but the JG seems to be a good buy as well...
Any comments? | |

| I would get an Echo 1. They have better QC then JG, plus a warranty, and, (Maybe not in the case of the AK47) A different spring. I wouldn't go for the vector arms because the spring is the same as the JG, so it will not last as long. | |

| The vector arms may have internals to support the better spring.
contact echo1 and ask the internals

If he wants a support-esque AK, the JG "SVD" is a good choice, and is almost a support gun. It doesn't really resemble an actual RPK or SVD, but it's more of a support gun than a regular AK. Just throw in a longer barrel, and you're all set. It's also good and cheap! Either that or the SRC RPK, but that is probably out of his price range. So I keep telling him... His whole deal is that since we aren't really playing any tournaments or OP's he doesn't want to get a real support gun, he wants a good "dual role" gun- one that can function as an SSG gun and a regular gun. So... I guess I can't blame him. Yeah, he said the RPK would be his first chioce, if it wasn't so blasted expensive. The SVD looks nice (but no rails!). I'll run that one by him.

How do they feel? | |

| so it's a trade off..... because people tend to shy away from stick batteries, right? | |
