| Hey, I was talking about the upgrades for the JG BAR 10 in another thread and I wanted to confirm them.
For 500+fps and accuracy (able to hit a man sized target) to 250`:
1.)Laylax SP150 spring:~$20(tax included) 2.)Metal spring guide:~$40(tax included) 3.)DB Custom 6.01mm TB:~$50(tax included)
Along with these upgrades will I need to get better sears or possibly a zero trigger to cope with the stronger spring and higher stresses?
Also will a new piston be needed or can the stock one handle the upgrades?

| So, those upgrades are good right? Also, do I need sears or a zero trigger or a new piston? | |

| If you want your gun to last then yes get the zero trigger. The stress is too much on the regular sears. | |

| Alright, If that is the case I need another $100 to pay for the zero trigger/orange piston, the gun, TB, sp150 spring, Metal spring guide, and a spare mag.
So, I need to get $100 by august 10th at the latest so I can have all the upgrades for the gun.
If you guys can find the zero trigger and piston for cheaper please tell me. (I found it at trinity airsoft for ~$200) EDIT: found it at Hot Spot Airsoft for less and I only need $70 now (sales+offers+odd jobs)
Thanks! | |

| Just to wrap this up, what fps and range do you think the JG BAR 10 will get with the upgrades stated above (DBC 6.01mm TB, Orange high pressure piston, Metal spring guide, SP150 spring, and Zero trigger system)?
Sorry for the double post.

| Yea, I kind of thought that once I posted it and no one answered after a day. But I think it would maybe be around 510-520fps and maybe 250` ,but I don't have much experience with upgraded spring sniper rifles.
Booligan do you have any idea?

| I will keep this brief because I tend to rant.
The weight of your bb combined with the velocity of the bb will dictate the approx. range.
Even traveling at that speed (500 fps), my guess is a .2g bb will still be flying all over the place due to wind turbulence and drag.
If you are planning on using heavy stuff, well then its really anyone's guess. (Smooth bore muskets could fire shot accurately up to 100 yards.)
Realistically even with .3g bb precision shots past the 200' would surprise me.
Your FPS will vary greatly depending on the weight of your ammo (To answer your question), I would be prepared to lose 150-200 fps by utilizing the .3g bb.

| I was planning on using .30g BBs. I didn't think I would lose that much velocity just by increasing the weight by 1/10 of a gram, I thought I would lose at most 100fps (from ~515 to ~415).
So, I guess I should expect to see 350fps and 200` range using .30g even in no wind.
I don't know if it's just me ,but stock this can shoot 175` accurately with 400fps and with $300 worth of upgrades it can only shoot another 25`(I didn't expect such a great lose of fps from the heavier BB).
Maybe I should try the SP170 spring too.

| Ill do some chrono tests and post the specific drops using the Well L96. I can't say that I recall ever using .3g, only .25g in the L96. But hey, its been a while. This time Ill use .2,.23,.25 and .3g. It should help.
I'm not trying to discourage you from using a "Sniper rifle" as long as you realize that the difference won't be as dramatic as what you would get in "real life". An airsoft "sniper" is like a paintball "sniper". Its really a question of what you wear, your tactics and the fact that you've got a scope, and (usually) quieter gun. Other than that the ballistics are NOT THAT different.
I have seen some TRICKED OUT guns and shot them myself (FA airsoft game) and I have seen 300' but it was using .28s and it was not bullseye accurate (it was cabable of hitting a car sized target). So keep your expectations realistic.
Don't think your going to be shooting wings off of flies past 150'.
200' = man size targets
anything after that, you'll prob be long balling and your scope wont be much more than a spotter magnifier.

Maybe I should try the SP170 spring too. I wouldn't upgrade the spring anymore. With the heavier BB, it will go slower when it comes out of the barrel, but it will not slow down in the air as fast as a .20. SO by the time its hits the target, It should actually be going faster than a lighter BB.

| It's all mesaured in Juels so using heavier bb's won't hurt more. Also I reccomend checking out this series https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWimeqjSJqE.They can help out a lot. Also I would just do the airbrake mod, my friends got his BAR-10 shooting 400FPS with .28's. | |

| Well, I am embarrassed to say I wrote before thinking. I have tested the following bbs and gotten the following Chrono readings. .12 - 430 fps .20 - 360 fps .23 - 347 fps .25 - 337 fps .28 - 312 fps I seem to have misplaced my .3s so I was not able to test this weight. So eric was more or less correct on the reduction by approx. 75 fps. However, in light of this thread I tested the accuracy at range and am feel the same way about accuracy as I did before. (It seems to top out at 150' accurately and after that I was having to "mortar" the bbs). BUT! this whole thread has lit the fire under me to try to do some wider testing on the subject of max range, accuracy etc... I dont want to hijack this thread so here is what I am thinking of doing. https://airsoftreports.editboard.com/misc-f10/real-world-airsoft-specs-test-t1300.htm#19660Regards! | |

| So, In conclusion with the gun shooting ~515fps with .20g BBs, the gun will shoot in the area of 455fps with .30g BBs and will be able to hit a man sized target at ~200` and anything past that you will need some luck to get a hit.
This is with the JG BAR 10 with a DBC 6.01mm TB, Zero trigger, orange high pressure piston, Metal spring guide, and a SP150 spring.

| You don't need all that just do the airbrake mod, my friend has done it and he could still get more FPS if he wanted. He's shooting 400 with .28's. Then just spend the rest on a hop up bucking, DBC barrel and sniper gear. | |

| Hard bucking, and the zero trigger will fit if its the one for the VSR-10. | |

| You just replace the old bucking with the hard bucking and not the whole hop up unit right? Thanks. | |

| I only know of the internals of the VSR-10, so I couldn't really tell you if you have to replace the whole unit. If it is a plastic hop up chamber, I would deffinitely change it. I would only replace the bucking. | |

| The BAR 10 is an exact clone of the VSR and is compatible with all their parts, so its the same. That being said, with your knowledge of the VSR (VSR has the same hop up as BAR 10) would you need to change the whole unit or just the bucking? | |
